Sharon McLean is a salon owner, cosmetology instructor, and veteran stylist for over 42 years. She helps licensed stylist advance their career with marketing and sales to increase stylist’s income. Sharon has always enjoyed starting and running businesses. In fact, by the time she was 34, she had already owned a business and had been working in town government for over 9 years. Soon afterwards, Sharon began attending classes and brought knowledge back to her salon to help her staff grow. Now she is the General Manager of Inspirational Salon Management Association (ISMA). This is an Association of like-minded Salon owners looking to grow their business. ISMA helps Salon owners and staff market themselves to create a better salon experience for their clients and increase their income via the internet.
I am the founder and general manager of www.ISMAedu.com. ISMA provides on online teaching method for new and existing staff to constantly improve the experience that exists in the every changing world of Salons, so they can create a professional experience for clients. I got into this line of business in 2003 when a group of owners and managers met to discuss furthering their business with competent staff. There are incredible benefits that association participants gain from the experiences of all the members. These benefits help Salon owner grow their business and it also helps grow the association. My favorite part of ISMA is supporting and helping other Salon owner grow. ISMA makes it sooooo easy!
When I’m not working on ISMAedu.com, I like to read and laugh with others.
I’m an entrepreneur, salon owner, and cosmetology instructor from New Hampshire.
I think of myself as a passionate, happy and committed person, although I’ve also been known to be a drill sergeant when necessary. The things I love most in life are people and learning.
I’ve been in the cosmetology profession since 1972 and I really love it. My idea of the perfect day starts with a smile, knowing I’ve helped Owner Managers and stylist fulfill their dreams. And then I’d hug every one of them and finish off by quietly resting, knowing I’ve helped my fellow salon professionals. The people I like to meet are ambitious and forward thinkers. These traits are important to me because we are in a profession that touches people, physically and emotionally.
